AB Venkateswara Rao Issues Legal Notices to 11 Individuals: Demands ₹1 Crore in Defamation Battle

Former Andhra Pradesh Intelligence Chief AB Venkateswara Rao (ABV) has intensified his legal crusade against the actions taken against him during the previous administration. In a move that has sent shockwaves through the IPS circles, the retired officer issued legal notices to 11 individuals, including high-ranking police officials and key administrative figures. Rao alleges that he was subjected to illegal cases, wrongful suspensions, and a coordinated character assassination campaign that caused him immense mental agony and tarnished his professional reputation.

The legal notice demands a compensation of ₹1 crore for the damages caused to his prestige. ABV asserts that the authorities involved intentionally leaked false information to the media and fabricated charges to justify his suspension. By targeting those who held pivotal roles during the previous YSRCP government, Rao is seeking accountability for what he describes as “victimization” and “malicious prosecution.” This bold legal step follows his recent acquittal and clear-cut court rulings that favored his stance regarding his tenure.

The list of respondents includes several prominent names who served in top capacities:

  • Gautam Sawang (Former DGP)

  • PSR Anjaneyulu (Former Intelligence Chief)

  • Ravi Shankar Ayyanar (Former ADG)

  • Pudi Srihari (Former CPRV to Ex-CM Jagan Mohan Reddy)

The notices specifically highlight the roles of these individuals in framing the charges and managing the narrative against him. As the legal proceedings unfold, this case is expected to set a significant precedent regarding the accountability of public officials in administrative and disciplinary actions.
