During the BRS State Executive Committee meeting at Telangana Bhavan, BRS supremo K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) launched a scathing attack on the state’s Congress and BJP MPs. He expressed deep outrage over their silence in Parliament when BJP MP Tejasvi Surya reportedly compared the formation of Telangana to the India-Pakistan partition. KCR questioned whether these 16 MPs lacked “Telangana pride,” asserting that had even a single BRS MP been present in the House, they would have created an uproar and forced an apology to protect the state’s self-respect.
Turning his focus to the current state administration, KCR criticized the Congress government for what he termed a “regime of demolitions.” He specifically targeted the HYDRA agency, accusing it of destroying the homes of the poor, and promised that his first signature upon returning to power would be to abolish this system. He further lamented the plight of farmers, stating that while his government made agriculture a “festival” with 24-hour power and Rythu Bandhu, the current leadership is failing in grain procurement and planning to install meters on agricultural motors.
In a major move to revamp the party, KCR announced the dissolution of all district, village, mandal, and town committees, barring the State Executive Committee. He emphasized that only those who work hard will be given priority in the new appointments and membership drives. Additionally, senior leader T. Jeevan Reddy was formally introduced as the BRS State General Secretary. KCR entrusted Working President KTR with the crucial task of strengthening the party at the grassroots level and organizing training sessions for workers in every constituency.
