Vice President CP Radhakrishnan’s Spiritual Tour: Special Prayers at Arasavalli and Srikurmam

Indian Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan undertook a significant spiritual visit to Srikakulam district on Monday, visiting the region’s most prominent ancient temples. He was received at the Dutch Bunglow helipad by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, District In-charge Minister Kondapalli Srinivas, and other top district officials. The Vice President first proceeded to the Srikurmam temple, the only shrine in the world dedicated to the Kurma (tortoise) avatar of Lord Vishnu, where he performed special rituals and sought divine blessings.

Following his visit to Srikurmam, the Vice President arrived at the famous Arasavalli Sun God temple. He was accorded a traditional ‘Poornakumbham’ welcome by the head priest, Ippili Shankar Sharma. After offering prayers in the inner sanctum, he was presented with ‘Teertha Prasad’ and a ‘Seshavastram’ amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns. During his time at the temple, he also personally inspected the ongoing construction and renovation works at the ‘Indra Pushkarini’ (temple tank), showing keen interest in the development of the heritage site.

The visit concluded on a personal and emotional note as the Vice President visited the residence of Union Minister Rammohan Naidu. He recalled his long-standing friendship with the late Union Minister Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu and spent time interacting with his family members. After having lunch with the Minister’s family, he departed for Visakhapatnam via helicopter. The district administration made elaborate security arrangements, ensuring that the Vice President’s high-profile tour was completed smoothly and successfully.
