“Parties Come and Go”: KTR Reacts to Kavitha’s New ‘TRS’ Party

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has responded to the launch of the “Telangana Rashtra Sena” (TRS) by his sister, Kalvakuntla Kavitha. Downplaying the development, KTR remarked that many parties emerge and fade away in politics, and there is no need to pay much attention to this new entity. He emphasized that very few political parties in India successfully complete 25 years, suggesting that the long-standing legacy of BRS remains unshaken. He further advised party cadres not to be distracted by various comments being made about KCR.

Addressing recent parliamentary controversies, KTR clarified that BRS was the first to condemn BJP MP Tejasvi Surya’s derogatory remarks regarding the formation of Telangana. He highlighted that BRS Rajya Sabha members Vaddiraju Ravichandra and Damodar Rao were the initial voices of protest. KTR revealed that Tejasvi Surya had even called him personally to claim his words were misunderstood, to which KTR firmly replied that the remarks were indeed wrong. He noted that Surya’s subsequent clarification in the House was a direct result of the pressure applied by BRS members.

KTR asserted that if BRS had representation in the Lok Sabha at that moment, their members would have confronted the comments even more aggressively. He reiterated the party’s commitment to protecting Telangana’s self-respect and history against any misrepresentation. Despite the internal family divide manifesting as a political split, KTR’s stance remains focused on the survival and strength of the BRS organization over the emergence of any rival regional groups.
