A Hyderabad Metro commuter named Chaitanya faced strict legal action after displaying a complete lack of civic sense and misbehaving inside a train. The incident occurred on a metro train traveling from Nagole to Rayadurgam, where Chaitanya sat with his foot resting inappropriately against the train window. When fellow passengers noticed this uncivilized behavior and politely requested him to put his foot down, Chaitanya shamelessly started an argument, rudely challenging them to do whatever they wanted.
Unwilling to tolerate his arrogance, an alert passenger recorded the entire confrontation on a mobile phone and immediately brought it to the attention of senior Hyderabad Metro Rail officials. Taking swift action, the management forwarded the details and the video footage to the security personnel stationed at the Rayadurgam Metro Station. As soon as the train pulled into the final station, the metro security team and local police were already waiting on the platform to intercept and detain him.
A formal written complaint was subsequently lodged against Chaitanya, prompting the Rayadurgam police to register an official case. Srinath Reddy, the General Manager of Security for Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, confirmed that the misbehaving passenger was fined ₹250 on the spot in accordance with metro railway regulations. As the video of the incident went viral on social media, furious netizens criticized the lenient fine amount, with many demanding a lifetime travel ban for such unruly passengers to maintain basic decorum in public transport.
