Djokovic Reaches Record 15th Wimbledon Semi-final After Epic Five-Set Victory

Novak Djokovic produced another remarkable performance to reach his record-extending 15th Wimbledon semi-final after defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime in a thrilling five-set quarter-final. The 39-year-old prevailed 7-6(10), 3-6, 6-3, 6-7(4), 7-6(10-4) in a marathon contest lasting five hours and 15 minutes, the longest Wimbledon quarter-final in history. The victory also marked Djokovic’s 55th Grand Slam semi-final and his 107th match win at The Championships, Wimbledon.

At 39 years and 51 days, Djokovic became the second-oldest men’s player in the Open Era to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals after Ken Rosewall. The 24-time Grand Slam champion overcame a calf injury that required a medical timeout and relied on his experience and resilience to edge past the Canadian in a closely fought encounter featuring only four service breaks.

Djokovic will next face Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals in a rematch of last year’s last-four clash, where the Italian ended the Serbian’s title challenge before going on to win the championship. Djokovic is now just two victories away from capturing his first Wimbledon title since 2023 and adding another Grand Slam crown to his record-breaking career.
