Polytechnic Students’ Protests: BJP Condemns House Arrests and Police Action

The BJP has strongly condemned the house arrest of its state president Ramchander Rao and the detention of party leaders while extending support to peaceful protests by polytechnic students. The party questioned why the government was preventing opposition leaders from standing with students and accused the Congress government of attempting to suppress democratic protests by using its power.

BJP leaders alleged that the government was not allowing protests over fee reimbursement and was taking action against those supporting the students. They questioned whether democracy still existed in the state and claimed that public confidence in the Congress government was declining. The party also criticised the restrictions imposed on its leaders who wanted to participate in peaceful demonstrations.

The BJP said it strongly condemned the arrests of Ramchander Rao and other party leaders. Party leaders questioned the government’s approach towards opposition parties and student movements, stating that peaceful protests and raising public issues are fundamental aspects of a democratic system.
