Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has proposed the creation of a ‘Special Himalayan Board’ comprising India, China, Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan to jointly address deadly disasters occurring across the Himalayan region. He said the countries need to move beyond political boundaries and work together to protect the fragile Himalayan ecosystem and respond effectively to natural disasters.
Sadhguru emphasized that environmental challenges in the Himalayas do not stop at national borders and require collective action from all countries in the region. He called for greater cooperation in protecting the environment, strengthening disaster preparedness and addressing the growing risks faced by Himalayan communities.
Meanwhile, during an event held in Kathmandu, Sadhguru announced a donation of ₹1 crore towards relief and assistance for victims affected by the floods in Nepal. His proposal and contribution come amid growing concerns over the impact of natural disasters and environmental changes across the Himalayan region.
