Hyderabad The allocation of Rs 176.5 crore to Telangana under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) plan has been authorized by the Union Government’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
States are eligible to earn the incentive money under the system if they reach the specified milestone.
Telangana has fulfilled its obligations under Initiative A’s Milestones 1 and 2, as well as Initiative B’s Milestone 1 and 2, in accordance with a directive from the Ministry. Telangana has qualified for Initiative A, which is worth Rs 125 crore, and Initiative B, which is worth Rs 51.5 crore.
Telangana announced and put into effect the MV Tax reduction for Initiative A’s first milestone. The ruling states that Rs 50 crore is the total qualifying reward under this milestone.
The state presented a plan for the scrapping of government cars that were over 15 years old and demolished vehicles that did not meet the objective for Milestone 2 of Initiative A. Under this milestone, a total of Rs 75 crore in incentives are available.
Telangana distributed Automated Testing Stations (ATSs) in 37 districts under Milestone 1 Initiative B, with 21 of those ATSs being distributed in priority districts. For non-priority districts, the state is entitled for Rs 20 crore and Rs 31.5 crore. A total of Rs 51.5 crore in incentives are available under this milestone.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Telangana’s Minister for Roads and Buildings, has instructed department personnel to expedite road building under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
He requested that authorities adhere to regulations while beginning the three components of the project: the improvement of the current road infrastructure, the roads linking district headquarters to the state capital, and the missing link roads to district headquarters.
The minister instructed them to get specialists to provide thorough project studies for HAM highways at a meeting. According to him, roadways in poor condition should be prioritized.
