Telangana Government Releases ₹1,000 Crore to Clear Long-Pending Employee Dues

In a major welfare move, the Telangana state government has released ₹1,000 crore to settle various pending dues for its employees. Acting on the directives of Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the Finance Department issued official orders on Wednesday. This release marks an increase from the previous monthly commitment of ₹700 crore, reflecting the government’s decision to accelerate the clearance of financial obligations toward its workforce starting this new financial year.

A primary highlight of this funding is the complete clearance of General Provident Fund (GPF) dues for retired employees up to October 2025. This move provides significant financial relief to thousands of senior citizens who had been waiting for their retirement benefits. By prioritizing these payments, the government aims to demonstrate its sincerity in honoring the service of retired staff and ensuring they receive their hard-earned savings without further delay.

Furthermore, the government has overhauled the processing of medical bills and scholarship payments, directing officials to treat health-related claims as a top priority. The goal is to eliminate any delays in medical reimbursements, ensuring that employees have robust health security. Employee unions have welcomed the decision, viewing the slogan “Employees are partners in governance” as a tangible commitment rather than just a political promise.
