“Does Meeting PM Modi Mean Joining BJP?”: BRS MLA Malla Reddy Fires Back at Defection Rumors

Former Minister and Medchal MLA Chamakura Malla Reddy expressed strong dissatisfaction with media speculation regarding his political future. The controversy arose after rumors circulated that his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a precursor to him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). During a service program in Bowenpally, organized by BRS youth leader Tinku Goud, the MLA was swamped by reporters seeking clarity on what they termed a “hot topic” in Telangana politics.

Malla Reddy sharply dismissed the rumors, questioning the logic that a meeting with the Prime Minister automatically implies a change in party loyalty. He stated that he is not obligated to respond to every piece of speculation appearing on social media and that he remains fully committed to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). He emphasized that the narrative being pushed by external sources has no connection to his actual intentions or political standing.

Firmly clarifying his position, the BRS leader reiterated that he is staying with his current party and that the public should not be misled by baseless propaganda. He urged the media to focus on substantive issues rather than fueling “defection dramas” without evidence. By categorically denying the rumors, Malla Reddy aimed to put an end to the ongoing discussions about his potential exit from the BRS.
