Media Controversy: Singer Sunitha Clarifies Viral Interview Comments Regarding Women’s Autonomy

Popular Tollywood singer Sunitha has strongly hit back at the ongoing social media backlash surrounding her recent interview. Expressing her frustration over the situation, she stated that her quote, “My body, my wish; his eyes, his wish,” was deliberately taken out of context by critics to stir up an unnecessary controversy. Clarifying her stance, she explained that she was merely highlighting a bitter societal truth rather than justifying any problematic behavior or endorsing outside control over women.

Sunitha advised critics to refrain from judging her based on isolated, fragmented video clips and urged them to watch the entire broadcast to grasp the appropriate context. She elaborated that while women inherently possess full rights over their own bodies, they unfortunately live in a society where a regressive mindset dictates that men look at them however they please. Her comments were meant to serve as a reflection on this harsh social dichotomy and the ongoing struggles for women’s freedom.

Concluding her clarification with a stern warning, the playback singer emphasized that she would not tolerate anyone crossing personal boundaries under the guise of autonomy. She sharply remarked that if anyone tries to misbehave by asserting “My hand, my wish,” their hands would be broken. She requested netizens and media handles to stop distorting her words, reaffirming that her original statements were intended to advocate for women’s safety and mutual respect in society.
