Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh is closely reviewing the safety and whereabouts of pilgrims from the state who were caught in flash floods in Nepal. Officials from the AP Bhavan in Delhi informed him that four of the seven affected pilgrims are safe, while the whereabouts of three others are still unknown. The missing pilgrims have been identified as Bala Subrahmanyam from Kuppam, Shashikumar of Isha Foundation, and Rajyalakshmi.
Officials said Shashikumar was last seen near the Gyirong Embassy in China. Minister Lokesh directed officials to intensify efforts to trace the missing pilgrims by maintaining constant coordination with the governments of China and Nepal. He also instructed authorities to work closely with the Central Government and take all possible measures to locate the three missing individuals.
Meanwhile, four pilgrims, including Bhaskar Shastri from Kurnool district who had travelled for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, are reported to be safe. Lokesh directed officials to arrange their evacuation at the earliest. He also called for continuous coordination with the Indian Embassy, Chinese and Nepalese authorities, the Gyirong Immigration Centre, and Isha Foundation representatives to gather the latest information and ensure the safety of all pilgrims.
