Controversy Surrounding YouTuber Anvesh: Protests Erupt in Tirupati

Hindu organizations in Tirupati held a massive protest on Saturday, expressing their outrage over Anvesh’s recent controversial remarks. Demonstrators were seen hitting his photos with slippers and setting them on fire as a mark of protest. The representatives of these groups have issued a stern warning, stating they would “split him into two” if he ever entered Tirupati. They have formally submitted a complaint to the District Superintendent of Police (SP), demanding that he be declared an anti-national and extradited to India, as he is currently traveling abroad.

The controversy reportedly stems from a video where Anvesh responded to actor Sivaji’s comments regarding the attire of modern actresses. During this discussion, Anvesh allegedly dragged the names of Hindu Goddesses into the argument and made offensive comparisons. This has led to a string of legal troubles for the YouTuber; notably, BJP leader and actress Karate Kalyani has filed a case at the Panjagutta Police Station in Hyderabad. Similar First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered against him in Khammam and other parts of the Telugu states for hurting religious sentiments.

In response to the growing heat, Anvesh recently released a video clarification. He asserted his identity as a “proud Hindu” and claimed that he was born a Hindu and would die as one. He alleged that certain individuals were intentionally misinterpreting his words to “excommunicate” him from the religion and the community. Despite his clarification, the legal proceedings continue as police investigate whether his content violated laws regarding the deliberate and malicious intent to outrage religious feelings.
