The South Central Railway has addressed a long-standing demand from commuters by introducing a new regular express train service between Narasapuram and Tirupati. Train No. 17428/17427 will bridge the connectivity gap between the coastal districts and the temple town. The Narasapuram-Tirupati Express (17428) is scheduled to commence its operations on April 27, departing every Monday at 3:50 PM and reaching Tirupati at 3:40 AM the following morning. In the return direction, the train (17427) will depart from Tirupati every Sunday at 10:10 PM starting May 3, arriving in Narasapuram by 9:30 AM on Monday.
The new service is designed to cater to a wide range of passengers, featuring a coach composition that includes 2AC, 3AC, Sleeper, and General classes. The train will make strategic stops at several key stations, including Palakollu, Bhimavaram Junction, Akividu, Kaikaluru, Gudivada, Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, Ongole, Nellore, and Renigunta. This comprehensive route ensures that residents of various towns in the Krishna and Godavari belts have a reliable and regular transport option to reach the Rayalaseema region comfortably.
In addition to the new express train, there is significant progress regarding the Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express. Union Minister Bhupathi Raju Srinivas Varma confirmed that efforts are underway to provide an official halt for the high-speed train at Tadepalligudem station. Recognizing Tadepalligudem’s status as a vital commercial hub in the Godavari districts, authorities expect to resolve technical hurdles and implement the halt within the next 10 to 15 days, further enhancing the state’s premium rail infrastructure.
