In a peculiar and heart-wrenching incident in Visakhapatnam, an Intermediate second-year student called the Board of Intermediate Education officials directly, pleading for a passing grade before the results were even announced. Overwhelmed by the fear of failure, the student made a desperate appeal to the authorities, highlighting the immense pressure students often face during the result season. The phone call quickly became a talking point among education circles, shedding light on the anxiety levels of young learners awaiting their academic outcomes.
During the conversation, the student made a candid and surprising confession, admitting that he hadn’t prepared well for the exams. He honestly told the officials that he had simply rewritten the questions three times to fill up the answer sheet. Even more startling was his admission that he had tucked some cash inside his answer script, hoping it would influence the examiner to grant him pass marks. The officials were reportedly taken aback by the student’s honesty and the extent of his desperation to clear the subjects.
Rather than taking a stern approach, the board officials responded with empathy and provided immediate over-the-phone counseling to calm the distressed student. They assured him that failure is not the end and encouraged him to prepare for the upcoming Advanced Supplementary examinations. To ensure his safety, the Regional Inspecting Officer (RIO) was alerted, and his parents were contacted to provide support at home. While the results eventually confirmed that he failed five subjects across both years, his parents have assured officials that he is safe and being monitored carefully.
