Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari, visited his home constituency of Kuppam on Wednesday. Balancing spiritual devotion with rural simplicity, the Chief Minister began his tour by visiting the historic Sri Prasanna Tirupati Gangamma Thalli Temple. Receiving a traditional welcome from the temple priests, the couple offered sacred silk robes (pattu vasthralu) to the deity and performed special rituals. Naidu expressed great satisfaction in participating, emphasizing that local festivals and fairs are the bedrock of Telugu culture and tradition.
Following the prayers, the Chief Minister shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that he prayed to Goddess Gangamma for the comprehensive development, welfare, and prosperity of the entire state. He noted that he sought blessings to place Andhra Pradesh at the top spot nationally across all development sectors. During his time at the temple premises, Naidu also took a few moments to closely interact with local devotees, matching their enthusiasm and listening to their greetings.
The highlights of the return journey took a pleasant turn when the Chief Minister’s convoy unexpectedly pulled over at a roadside stall at Thanjammakottalu. Spotting local toddy tappers selling fresh ice apples (taati munjalu), the couple stepped out to enjoy the seasonal summer fruit. Sharing his delight on social media, Naidu wrote, “No adulteration, no carbide, and no pesticide worries. Eating these pure, cool ice apples that resemble the pure hearts of my Kuppam people right by the roadside feels incredibly wonderful.” Netizens widely praised the gesture, lauding the Chief Minister for acting as a grassroots brand ambassador for local, rural organic produce and supporting the local economy.
