Rajasthan CM Slams Rahul Gandhi over “Traitor” Remarks Against PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday fiercely condemned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his recent controversial remarks targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Demanding an immediate public apology to the nation, the Chief Minister alleged that the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha had insulted India’s highest constitutional offices. He added that the indecent language used by the Congress MP had deeply hurt the sentiments of 140 crore Indian citizens, describing the statements as highly objectionable and completely unacceptable in a healthy democratic discourse.

The fresh political row erupted after Rahul Gandhi, during a public address in Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli district, accused the ruling BJP and the RSS of working against national interests and attacking the Constitution, reportedly labeling the Prime Minister and the Home Minister as “traitors.” In an official statement shared on social media platform X, CM Sharma asserted that while ideological differences are a natural aspect of democracy, resorting to such derogatory language merely reflects the Congress party’s growing frustration and its continuously declining political mindset. He accused the opposition of completely losing its political decorum and mental balance.

As the remarks ignited a massive nationwide political debate, the Bharatiya Janata Party heavily criticized the language, comparing it to rhetoric used by an “enemy nation.” On the other hand, the Congress party firmly stood by its leader, defending Gandhi’s statements as a true reflection of the widespread public anger and frustration being felt by citizens across the country. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sharma reiterated that the opposition is actively working to divide society and spread anarchy instead of engaging in constructive politics, warning that such disrespectful remarks against top national leadership would not be tolerated by the public.
