A serious road accident took place on Monday at the Y-junction on the NH-44 in Ramayampet, Medak district. A school auto carrying students from the Ramayampet Telangana Model School towards Naskal was hit from behind by a lorry. Ten students travelling in the auto sustained serious injuries in the accident. Local residents who witnessed the incident immediately responded and shifted the injured students to the Ramayampet Government Hospital for treatment.
Among the injured, Lavanya, a Class 6 student from Nagaram Tanda village, is reportedly in critical condition, according to doctors. The injured students are currently receiving emergency medical treatment at the Ramayampet Government Hospital. Authorities are closely monitoring their condition.
Police officials reached the accident spot after receiving information and registered a case. An investigation into the incident has been launched, while efforts are underway to take the lorry and its driver into custody. Further details regarding the cause of the accident are awaited.
