The Telangana government has announced a major relief for eligible beneficiaries applying for Cheyutha social security pensions. Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Seethakka said that the deadline for submitting applications has been extended by another 15 days. Eligible applicants can now apply for the Cheyutha pension scheme until September 15.
Speaking at a review meeting, Minister Seethakka said the decision was taken after considering the difficulties being faced by persons with disabilities across the state. Many eligible applicants were unable to submit their applications due to technical issues, including server problems and delays in obtaining essential documents such as SADAREM certificates, Aadhaar cards and income certificates.
The government took the decision following requests from representatives of organisations working for persons with disabilities and public representatives. The extension is expected to provide more time for eligible beneficiaries who could not complete their applications within the earlier deadline. Officials have been directed to facilitate the application process and ensure that eligible people can benefit from the scheme.
