Heavy rains in Nirmal district have disrupted connectivity after floodwaters washed away a temporary approach road between Kurraguda and Pata Revujipet villages under Dharmajipet Gram Panchayat in Kadem mandal. The temporary structure had been built by villagers after the original bridge was washed away in floods nearly three years ago.
Continuous rainfall since last night caused a surge in floodwaters, which swept away the makeshift approach road. As a result, transportation between the two villages has come to a complete halt, leaving residents stranded.
Villagers have appealed to the authorities to take immediate steps to restore connectivity and construct a permanent bridge to prevent such disruptions during every monsoon season.
